The Chicago Blues Foundation survives on donations from patrons of Chicago Urban Blues music. Thanks to the generosity of many individuals and organizations, The Chicago Blues Foundation has been able to restore and preserve numerous recordings, pieces of memorabilia, photos, and historical artifacts.

If you would like to make a tax deductible donation to the Chicago Blues Foundation and receive a gift, just fill out the form on our Contact Us page and state your intentions to give. Please give all the information necessary for us to contact you and in return we will give you a free direct phone number to a live member's services representative.

  • Contributors of $100 or more will receive a blues CD or artifact of your choosing commensurate with the percentage of your donation. Review our website to determine the category of product you prefer and when one of our volunteers calls you we can determine the specific gifts available to you, and you will be ready the choose gift.
  • Please supply any information you would like to appear on our Acknowledgement Page as a contributor and full shipping and mailing address for your receipt and gift.
  • Donations can be made by check or with a major credit card.
  • You will receive a receipt from us for your tax records that confirms the amount of your donation, signed by one of our offices. This receipt will be accompanied by your gift. If either is missing or not to your liking, you may use the free direct phone number to a live member's services representative that was given to you before you contributed.
  • For your security, we only publish your name and region of residence on our "Acknowledgement Page" unless given further instructions by you. (For example, you might want to contribute in the memory of someone and you may or may not want the amount of your contributions published.)

We invite you to read our History and our Mission pages on this web site to help in your decision to contribute. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) IRS registered charity that allows your contribution to be fully tax deductible. As you may already know, contributing your tax dollars to a specific charity instead of the government in general, gives you somewhat more direct control over how your tax dollars are spent.

Please note there are organizations with similar names that are not registered as fully tax deductible charities with the IRS. Please check with the IRS or your tax professional if you have any questions. In checking, refer to the Chicago Blues Foundation, Inc. SM. CBF had its final review and classification with the IRS finalized on June 26, 2001. A list of legitimate charities is available from the IRS or your tax professional, which is in general good procedure to follow before contributing to any charity.
